Exploring the Patriarchy
Established in 2026, Exploring the Patriarchy is a free monthly learning circle in which we explore how patriarchal beliefs, expectations and power structures shape our lives, relationships and communities.
Our 2026 reading is bell hooks’ The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love. We read one chapter each month and gather to explore the ideas together, bringing our questions, reflections, discussion topics and lived experiences.
The circle offers a space for thoughtful inquiry, honest conversation and a willingness to examine our own assumptions, including the ways we may have internalised the very structures we are seeking to understand.
How the Circle Works
- Format: Online via Zoom
- Frequency: Once a month
- Time: 18:00–19:30 SAST
- Cost: Free
- Reading: One chapter per month, with participant-led discussion
- 2027 reading: To be confirmed
